Recent changes introduced by the Government and the Gambling Commission that every licensed online casino now follows.
Online slot stake limits. A maximum of £5 per spin, cut to £2 a spin for anyone aged 18 to 24.
Limits before your first deposit. Since 31 October 2025, new customers must be asked to set a deposit limit.
Simpler promotions. Since 19 January 2026, wagering requirements are capped at 10 times, and a single promotion cannot mix casino with other products such as betting.
The Gambling Commission was set up under the Gambling Act 2005 to regulate commercial gambling in Great Britain. It licenses operators, sets the conditions they must follow, and can fine operators or suspend and revoke licences when rules are broken. It publishes enforcement action on its website.
A casino needs a Gambling Commission licence to serve customers in Great Britain, wherever the company is based. Many licensed operators are registered in Gibraltar or Malta. The operators we list include companies registered in Gibraltar and Malta — you can see each one in our comparison.
Licensed casinos have to check your age and identity before you are allowed to gamble, and may ask for more information to meet anti-money-laundering rules. They are not allowed to let you cancel a withdrawal once requested, a rule designed to stop players being tempted to gamble money they had decided to withdraw.
Complain to the casino first. After eight weeks without a resolution, the independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider named in the casino's terms can look at it. You can also tell the Gambling Commission about your experience.
Finding a licence is only the first step. The entry also tells you what the company is licensed to do, which websites it runs and whether the regulator has acted against it.
The top of an entry shows the company's name and address, its account number and each type of licence it holds, with a status and a start date. Many companies hold several at once. LC International Limited, the company behind Coral, is licensed for casino, bingo, betting, pool betting and betting intermediary services, while Tek Fox Ltd, which runs MrQ, holds casino and bingo licences only.
This list shows every website the company has declared for customers in Great Britain, each marked active or inactive. It is the quickest way to spot a site borrowing a licence that does not cover it. The status can differ between addresses for the same brand: LeoVegas Gaming PLC lists leovegas.co.uk as active but leovegas.com as inactive for Great Britain.
Brands sometimes change hands. When that happens, the old company may surrender its licence and the new one adds the domain to its own entry. 32Red Limited surrendered its licence in March 2025 and the 32Red site now appears under Platinum Gaming Limited, while MrQ's casino licence has been held by Tek Fox Ltd since September 2023. A footer that names a different company from the register is a reason to stop and check.
Decisions by the Commission are listed with a date and their outcomes, such as a financial penalty, conditions added to the licence or a warning. Two of the operators we review have entries like this: Unibet UK (Platinum Gaming Limited, 22 September 2025) and Bally Casino (Gamesys Operations Limited, 22 November 2023). Both licences remain active. We explain each decision in the review and reflect it in our licence score.

A white label is a casino brand that runs under another company's Gambling Commission licence rather than its own. The register marks these domains as white label on the licensed company's entry, and that company is responsible for the site. For example, the register lists virgingames.com as a white label of Gamesys Operations Limited.
